Sharp Dressed Man

With Alan anticipating teaching Seminar part-time next school year (with the hope of being hired on full time after graduation), it was time to update his suits. Alan's mom offered to buy him a new suit, and with the two-for-the-price-of-one deal on now at Mr. Mac, Alan looks pretty snazzy. Thanks again Jeanine!

Thursday Flowers Week 6

This week Alan made me a hand-tied bridal bouquet.

I'd almost say it's a little reminiscent of my original wedding bouquet...

Little trouble maker

P.S. Don't mind Elsie's crazy hair. We had just gotten her dressed and I hadn't done her hair yet. But look how long it is! Crazy muppet hair, that's what it is...

Thursday Flowers Week 5

This week was 'cube designs', meaning the vase is a cube and then flowers are kind of exploding out of the top. It's pretty cool looking.

The many adventures of Elsie

Yesterday I caught Elsie playing with the laundry baskets. At least this one was full of her clean clothes that we just hadn't folded yet. Either way, she was pretty cute.

Here's a few pictures of Elsie from this morning all ready for spring weather. She's pretty cute if I say so myself. Now all we need is for spring to come...

Sleeping Beauty

Elsie didn't sleep well last night. I don't know if her teeth were hurting, she was having bad dreams, or was just getting scared, but every 20-30 minutes she would start yelling and crying and wouldn't calm down until one of us went in to get her. Finally, a little after 3am, we brought her in bed with us and she slept snuggled up to us til about 6:30 when she decided it was time to get up. Not a very good nights sleep. I think Alan and I both averaged maybe 3 hours of sleep...

Needless to say Elsie was very tired and cranky this afternoon. But despite how tired she was, she fought that nap tooth and nail. I would sit for a while and snuggle with her, then lay her in bed, and when I walked out of the room she would stand up and yell and cry at the door until I came back and repeated the cycle all over again. After doing this for maybe... two hours or so, Elsie was so exhausted that she fell asleep mid-cycle. As you can tell from the picture she was crawling over to the edge of her bed to pull herself up when she fell asleep in the middle of it. I had to try really hard not to laugh as I snapped this picture, then laid down for a nap of my own.

Eleven months

My little stinker is eleven months old today! Elsie is still working on her walking; she will walk just fine if we stand her up and prompt her, but she is still not taking off on her own. She has a few words now, and if you speak fluent Elsie (as we do), you can hear her say Dada (or Daddy sometimes), Mama, bye bye, thank you, uh-oh, and jacket. One of her favorite things to do now is crawl up behind one of us, climb up our pant legs, then go walking around while holding on to our pants. Very cute, but also very difficult if I'm doing something like making dinner or washing dishes. She is certainly a little firecracker, but we love her.

Thursday Flowers Week 4

This week was Japanese designs. It has three lines, straight up representing Heaven, straight out representing Earth, and in between Heaven and Earth representing Man. It's all stuck in some floral foam and floating in water.
Here's the view from behind.
And from above.
And this. Can you believe it was around 50 degrees yesterday morning? It started out as a beautiful day, then a storm hit and it has been blizzarding since about 2pm yesterday.
And here's my little Muppet this morning, just because she's cute.
