Our lives on the East Coast

Not much to report. Elsie has been working on popping out a few more teeth. Her second top left poked though a few days ago, and the second top right is still working its way out. She has also learned how to climb up on our bed. Not such a problem if we could just close a door and she couldn't get to it... But even out here in the East our bed is once again in the living room while Elsie enjoys a bedroom all to herself. Constant vigilance is needed to keep my little dare devil from running head long off the side of the bed.

I miss our car, my daily walks, the easily accessible grocery stores, and having Alan home in the evenings with me. This short little adventure is feeling longer and longer as the days go by.

I've kept myself somewhat busy during the long days at home. Since we can't get to a store without borrowing a car, and it is what we would run out of the most, I've been baking all of our bread. While the process isn't hard, it takes a good amount of time to let the dough rest and rise. I'll show you my mad skills when we get home, Katie.
3 1/2 more weeks...

A couple of posts...

Scroll down... I finally have my camera cord out here (thanks for the package Katie!), so I've been able to get the pictures off my camera.

Elsie's first time at the beach

We were able to take a trip to the beach after church on Sunday. Elsie seemed to enjoy herself, but mostly she just looked at everything with an amazed expression on her face. The sand was a little hard to walk on and she wasn't to thrilled with it, but she loved the water. She went running into it as soon as she saw it and loved to stand in the waves.

Trying out a new hairstyle

She has enough hair to put up into ponytails. I tried this style the other day, and then just the two bottoms ones as well.

But by the end of the day this is what it looks like... Oh well. She's still cute.

Five guys and Rita's

We treated ourselves to Five Guys Burgers and Fries and then Rita's Italian Ice. Mmm... So good...

The Rita's lady gave Elsie a little cone. She wasn't so sure about it at first, but she got into it by the end.

East Coast Adventure

Alan's summer job takes us to many places, and this year it's off to the East Coast! This summer is a little different though... We are only staying for half the summer because Alan will be returning to school to attend Summer Term. Since we are only staying half the summer, and because it was so far away, we decided to all fly out together and leave our car at home. It will be interesting to see all the places we can visit with only our feet to get us there.

Also, our apartment is in a newer part of the complex that is still under construction, so (free) internet isn't as widely available. Right now I am posting this from a Starbucks inside a Barnes and Noble down the street (Starbucks has free wifi) with Elsie in the stroller next to me. I guess it will make me get out more if I have to walk a little ways to get internet.

Since we flew out, we weren't able to bring as much stuff as we normally do. It also means that we forgot more things because we were only thinking of the essentials we needed to get by for two months. For example, my camera cord. My memory card doesn't fit into the laptop we brought and we forgot the cord that hooks up to the camera. If there's a lack of pictures the next few weeks, that's probably why. Well, that and the whole internet situation. We were able to find someone with a card reader that we could borrow for a minute, so I snapped a few pictures of our new apartment.

It looks like it might rain outside, so we better start walking home. I'll leave with a little video of Elsie that we took right before we left. In case you can't see it/hear it, she is dancing around holding a pen that plays the BYU fight song. Go Cougars :)

We went for a walk

A very slow walk since we let Elsie walk most of the way. But it was fun and Elsie enjoyed herself.
Going for walks is fun!

Ready for my beauty shot
Lets go this way

What are those ones called, Dad?
