We have been slowly working on the the book "How to Teach Your Kid to Read in 100 Easy Lessons" since we got it last year, but lately Elsie's reading has taken off. She insisted on doing two or three lessons a day this summer, and is now full blown reading on her own. It has been so fun to watch her, because the more she learned the more she discovered that there are words everywhere.
One of the best things is that she has taken to reading to Alice. I'll be working on something and realize that it is just too quiet in the house. Before, that usually meant they were up to no good. Now, often I will find them sitting together working their way through a huge stack of books.
