Halloween Costumes 2013

Last night was our ward's Fall Festival, complete with costumes. Elsie is in full blown princess mode right now, and insisted on being a princess for Halloween.

We even had time to play around before the party and try out some princess hair.

Anyone guess who Alice is?

How about now?

I spent a good chunk of time sitting on the couch sewing purple circle after purple circle onto Alan's hoodie, but I think it turned out pretty good. They made quite the adorable Boo and Sulley.

Last but not least, this was my costume.

Mondays

Elsie doesn't have school on Mondays, so the girls are stuck at home with me all day. Lately I've just been feeling too pregnant (tired, slow, achy, lazy...) to want to try to go anywhere by myself with both kids in tow, so I've been trying to have at least one solid project for the girls to have on Mondays to make the day seem a little more special. I try to make it a little more involved or messy because I don't have the energy to do those things very often anymore, but I can do it once a week. This was the first week that I thought to take pictures of our Monday project.

I got out some of my canvases and put painters tape on them. Then the girls went to town with the paints and covered the picture. When it dried, we peeled the tape up. The only thing left to do is get Alan to hang them up in their room.

Between Sessions

We spent our weekend watching General Conference. The girls have moved together into the same bedroom in preparation for Baby Brother coming and taking over Alice's old room, and in an effort to not let them nap and wear them out so they would sleep at night, we slipped out between the sessions on Saturday to a new, local farm to play around. We caught a break in the rainstorms, put on our boots, and had a good time.

I had my camera with me, but little did I know that the battery was still in the charger on the wall back at home. All I had left was my camera phone. Enjoy the semi-okay quality pictures of the girls playing around.
