She's getting better already

P.S. Look at my open living room! The barricade came down this morning, and Elsie is enjoying her new found freedom.

The Begining of the End...

These videos are posted in chronological order and you can tell that Elsie's figuring it out by the end. It won't be too much longer until she's cruising around full time. Of course, Alan constantly bribing her with smarties certainly speeds up the process...

Thursday Flowers Week 3

This week Alan made boutonnieres...
A dasiy wire...
And a silk flower wrapped to a pen.

Broken Glass

We had our glasses out for a Valentine's evening. We had used them with a special dinner and sparkling cider. They were still out the next morning, and as I was reaching across the table to get the wipes to clean Elsie up from her breakfast, somthing bumped my glass and it fell and broke. I'll admit, I cried for a minute or two. I was upset that it broke, and combined with a teething child who didn't sleep well, there were a few tears to be shed. We don't use the glasses very often, but they were from our wedding and special to me. With nothing I could do about it, I tried to move on and went to put Elsie down for a nap. When I came out of her bedroom, Alan was sitting at the table with some super glue trying to salvage the glass.

My glass isn't as pretty as it once was, and I'm not even sure if it will hold anything. But I plan on keeping it around, even if it is just to remember that morning when it broke and Alan did his best to try and fix it.

Thursday Flowers Week 2

Sadly, I didn't get flowers last week... Alan just had a quiz in his flower lab instead of making an arrangement. This week they were back to arranging flowers and he made me a Valentine's Day bouquet. Hooray for flowers!

Ten months

Elsie is ten months old today! A few of her new talents include pulling herself up on everything and walking along it, clapping, and on a good day she'll wave and tell you "ba ba". She is officially getting into everything, and we've had to double up our barricades and move everything up another shelf. She has her two front bottom teeth and she is starting to use them to bite and chew her food. She is quite the little sneak; she knows exactly where she is not supposed to go and as soon as we turn our back she makes a break for it. She certainly is a funny little girl, and we love her.

Lots of videos...

There are a lot of video clips in this post. And most of them are very similar. In fact, I'm sure the only person that will actually sit and watch all of them is my mom and Alan's mom. So Mom(s), this is for you.

Elsie's New Talent

I'm not sure how I feel about this one... It means we've had to move everything up another level on shelves and things. Oh well, she was bound to figure it out sooner or later. :)

What you don't see in this next clip is as soon as I turned off the camera, Elsie took a nose dive off the edge of the table. Luckily for her, I have crazy ninja skills and I caught her before she hit the floor. She just needs to learn how to get down gracefully.

Sometimes it's just hard...
