One Week Old

One week down. Alice is a sweet kid. So far her favorite thing to do is eat, and eat a lot. She had a marathon feeding the second night at the hospital. With the exception of a bathroom break and a few diaper changes, Alice nursed for about 6 hours straight and was still acting like she was starving. At about 3 am, we finally gave in and supplemented her with some formula. She guzzled almost the entire bottle and then slept for 4 hours. We only had to supplement two more times before my milk came in. Every two hours is about her normal feeding schedule, and she looks like she's gaining plenty of weight from it.

Alice is doing pretty well at nighttime. Our typical night consists of going to bed, Alice waking up and Alan getting her, feed her on one side, hand her back to Alan to burp her/change her diaper, feed her on the other side, give her to Alan to put back in bed, then repeat again in two hours. Luckily Alice has taken to the lay-down-and-nurse method, so we all can doze off while she's eating.

Elsie wanted to help with the picture taking...

Super sweet girls. :) Let us know when you want to get out and about again! Olivia has (of course) still been asking for Elsie. :)
