4th of July

It was 100+ degree weather; we had to find a way to cool off. We went swimming (wading?) in one of the man made ponds at Alan's work. The water was warm and the sun was hot. It was perfect.

After dinner, we sat outside and enjoyed an ice cream cone while playing with sparklers and snaps and watching Alan set off a pack of fireworks.

Wow, what a good idea! We are going to have to do this sometime.. I have so many swim diapers to use up this summer! :)
Love how you made the sparklers "safe" by using a Styrofoam cup!
We totally missed out on all forms of fireworks this year... I think it will make next year that much better, though.
Don't you love having an extra day off in the middle of the week! It's so great when daddy is home!

Oh, I love all the pictures! Looks like you got to play in a private oasis in the Epic pond....great idea for a very hot day. Looks like a fun day all around. Do you realize that just a year ago Dad and I showed up in your town for several days of fun? The girls have grown so much since then.
